If you are a commercial business owner and you are having issues with your HVAC system, we can help. If you are looking for a second opinion, that means you don’t feel the initial one was competent. No worries, Go Admiral will look into it for you for no extra charge. Our technicians are highly qualified and experienced. You can be sure we know what we’re doing.

In an earlier blog, we discussed some common air conditioning problems. Let’s highlight them for you here.

Common HVAC Problems

AC Repair in Spring TX Tips and Maintenance

Best HVAC Techs

Misuse and Poor Maintenance

Many HVAC issues begin with improper operation. Keep your doors and windows closed so that every room can be cooled properly. An underqualified technician could potentially give it poor service or install it incorrectly. This would not be your fault. If you have an issue like this, the best thing to do is contact a service provider and have your system brought up to equipment standards.

Leaks and Drainage

Leaks are something your technician should take care of. Refrigerant will leak out due to being undercharged. An HVAC system will need to be repaired and charged with more refrigerant. This is the cooling agent that keeps your air conditioning icy. This can also become an environmental issue so keep your eyes peeled and get in touch with a service provider. Something you can do during humid seasons is checking your condensate drain to make sure it’s not clogged.

Electric Malfunction

If you hear a strange buzzing or your HVAC system smells like it’s burning, you need to have it repaired immediately. The wires and terminals are corroded over time and cause further issues. You don’t want to be caught by surprise if this dangerous problem arises. If a fire should start, it could be devastating to your home or business.

Free Second Opinion For Your Spring Location

If your commercial business is located in Spring, TX, we offer a free second opinion. As a business owner, you want to save as much money as you possibly can. We understand your plight if you feel your last technician was off the mark. To be sure, contact us at (281)-876-9400. We can send a technician to you free of charge to look over your HVAC system and conduct a proper analysis. If you suspect something is wrong, you should trust your instinct. There’s no need to continually fret over it when you can have a technician reassure you or correct your previous service.

Fight Back Against Spring Allergies

If you have any allergies, maintaining your air system is essential to your comfort. Here’s how regular HVAC service can help you fight back against spring allergies. They may seem obvious, but it’s easy to push air filter issues to the back of your mind. If you’re doing any spring cleaning, however, it might become a bit more pronounced. All of the problems listed below can be solved by keeping your HVAC system functioning properly. Any qualified technician will do their best to ensure you are breathing in clean air in the comfort of your home.

Pollen

You’ve probably seen giant green and yellow pollen clouds floating through town at one point or another. Pollen comes from the plants and flowers, of which there are many in Houston. It floats through the wind to fertilize other plants and keep our city green and beautiful. Unfortunately, it can cause a lot of sinus and breathing issues. Many people are also allergic to it and spend the season sneezing. Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who is uncomfortable. At least you’ll be able to find some refuge at home.

Dust

The time for spring cleaning is here! Though your attic and higher cabinets may have accumulated a grey coating since you last cleaned. Unlike pollen, dust manifests inside your home, and you’ll need a quality air system to push it out. So don’t be afraid of getting up there with your duster and taking care of the problem. Go Admiral technicians will have already made sure that the dust is banished from your living area.

Sugar Land TX AC Financing

Competent HVAC systems can purge the dust from your home

Animal Hair and Dander

If you have a dog or cat, their coat will be shedding as it gets warmer out. This is especially true if they are long-haired. Dogs like Siberian Huskies and German Shepards will be leaving a blanket of fluff on your floor and in your air. Long haired cats will make sure it gets into your closet and shelves as well. It’s not their fault, it’s only natural. Their bodies need to adapt to the warmer weather just like you do. Keeping your air filters clean can hopefully keep the most of it from cycling back in.

Remember to prioritize your comfort this coming spring. Invest in an annual service plan so you suffer the least, and fight back against spring allergies.

If you have questions about your HVAC system, the qualified professionals at their Spring location can help. Call (281) 876-9400 for more information.

Go Admiral also has locations in Katy, The Woodlands, Tomball, and many more, which can all be seen on their website here. Houston, Texas, is their home. More information about this beautiful city can be found here.

Common Air Conditioning Problems and What You Can Do About It

Here are some common air conditioning problems and what you can do about it.

It’s important to note that there are some easy fixes you can handle at home and some should be left to professionals. If you are unsure about anything, don’t put your equipment and yourself at risk. Don’t hesitate to call Go Admiral for a free service call with a repair at (281)-876-9400.

Misuse and Poor Maintenance

Many HVAC issues begin with improper operation. Keep your doors and windows closed so that every room can be cooled properly. An underqualified technician could potentially give it poor service or install it incorrectly. This would not be your fault. This is another issue you cannot solve at home. If you hear a strange buzzing or your HVAC system smells like it’s burning, you need to have it repaired immediately. The wires and terminals are corroded over time and cause further issues. You don’t want to be caught by surprise if this dangerous problem arises. If a fire should start, it could be devastating to your home and family.

Sensor Problems

If you knock the evaporative coil out of place, it can cause your thermostat to display the wrong temperature. You can adjust this by slightly bending the wire that holds the coil away from the sensor. Have a technician do this for you if you are uncertain about where it is. You could also inadvertently cause yourself more common air conditioning problems if you are unsure about what you’re doing.

There are many more possible issues your HVAC system may have, and while some may seem like simple fixes, hiring someone for it is always best.

Find The Cheapest Method to Heat your Home!

Are you searching for different ways to lower your utility bill in the winter? There are a lot of possibilities that can cut costs, but the biggest way is to decide what type of energy source you are using. There are 4 different leading forms which you can have installed into your home. In today’s blog post we will help you find the cheapest method to heat your home! At Admiral Houston, we want to ensure that our customers have the best service and the best price for them.

AC Repair in Spring TX Tips and Maintenance

Best HVAC Techs

Heating Oil

This method is an older technique which was once a very competitive source. It isn’t very common in the south because of its effectiveness in winter weather. However, there is a possibility that you may have it installed. If so, we recommend that you consider changing your energy source. This form has increased in price in a very significant manner over the last decade and it doesn’t look to be lowering any time soon. In order to cut costs, you should steer away from outdated methods such as this one. It will help you save drastically and function more efficiently.

Propane

This method has been replacing heating oil over the last decade because it is cleaner and cheaper to use. However, propane systems are still outdated and while they are cheap they are growing more and more unpopular as newer systems emerge on the market. Over millions of users have been switching from Propane services and we also highly encourage that you do too. If you have a propane system, consider switching not for the better prices, but for long term use.

Electricity

Electric based heating systems are by far and away the most popular forms to use today and show a lot of promise for long term use. They are overtaking the other older formats such as heating oil and propane with ruthlessness. Although some complain it doesn’t work as efficiently, the price is advantageous to other forms and highly available. Over a third of Americans use electricity so the ability for fast repairs and great service will be likely in your area.

Natural Gas

This is the cheapest and most popular method in the US. It may not be cleaner than electric energy, but it costs half as much as oil and the availability of natural gas is far more abundant. In fact, based on inflation, today’s gas prices have not risen too sharply from their cost in 2003-4. This means that they are stable in price and you can depend on them to stick around.

Finding The Best AC For You

Are you in need of an AC? At GoAdmiral we can provide AC units to all kinds of customers. They can vary greatly because there are many variables to account for. The size of the home, the amount of energy used, and the cost. The demands will then, of course, also vary greatly as a result. We want to elaborate on our extensive offerings and clarify on what we can provide you. This blog post today will focus on finding the best AC for you or your business. The temperature control of your home matters greatly to us. We want to help you have the most optimized and cost-effective access to your air.

What AC Unit Will Work Best For Me?

Since there are so many sorts of requirements for AC, we categorize our customers as residential or corporate users. Residential means that you are currently living in an apartment, a house, or condo. As a corporate user, it could mean you will be providing air condition to an office or large scale building. This is very important to determine because each kind of environment requires a different kind of AC. For larger buildings, a much larger grid will be needed to power it. In addition, the need for heat pumps or crankshafts to keep the building warmer will be high. The AC unit will have to be operable during all seasons. It must be very energy efficient in order to be cost-effective for such use. On the other hand, a smaller residential home may require a far smaller and less complex system. You may not need a heat pump or any additional modification but nevertheless, we offer state-of-the-art products. GoAdmiral services various brands including RUUD®, Lennox®, Goodman®, and Trane® — just to name a few. Our 24/7 customer service comes complete with expert technicians ready to help however they can. Through all of these measures, we promise we can find the best AC unit for you or your company.

They provide Houston Admiral customers with excellent customer service, fair credit evaluations, flexible terms and payment options. Additionally, in a joint effort to bring you options to finance, we have developed two different forms and have them listed below.

  • FTL Finance Lease: The FTL Finance Lease is a single installment loan with a $1 buyout. This finance option has a fixed term, a fixed interest rate, and a fixed payment.
  • FTL ESC Card: The FTL ESC Card is a revolving loan and draws interest daily. The monthly payment reduces as the borrower pays down the interest.

Don’t Trap Your Kids in the Heat

Don’t trap your kids in the heat this summer. Houston weather is projected to reach the 90s by July and can even reach up to 99. Combined with the humidity, this heat can be a powerful force.

You likely have kids if you’re reading this blog post. They may not be able to play outside somedays. The heat will be overwhelming and kids play hard, so it may be best they stay inside. Now popsicles and sticking their heads in the freezer can only do so much for them. If they’re miserable, they’ll make you miserable too. Most kids can’t stand being uncomfortable in any way. Think about it: if you were 7 years old and you experienced 99 degree weather, that would be the hottest weather you’d experienced all your life! Their perspective doesn’t reach as far as ours does. They will need to be able to return to the cool comfort of the home. That is why ensuring your HVAC system is functioning properly is essential.

You may not have your HVAC system functionality on your mind. You’re worried about homework and field trips instead. If your child has a fundraiser, you’d like to focus your attention on helping them feel successful. Being a parent is a full-time job. You have enough to worry about when it comes to your child’s development and future. But you also need your AC running properly. We advise that you let Go Amiral worry about it instead, with a service contract.

How Does Your Service Contract Work?

Go Amiral will send a technician to your house twice a year. They will do a routine check on your HVAC system, clean out your air filter, and diagnose and fix any issues that arrive. This precision tune-up appointment will ensure that your air conditioning is up and running all summer long.

A service contract will save you time and money while you’re busy worrying about your kids. Don’t worry, they’ve got it covered for you.

Should there be a sudden issue, Go Amiral has emergency repair services available 24/7. Call anytime and have a certified technician at your door, ready to fix the issue. While they do that you are free to enjoy your time as a parent more instead of an amateur technician. Let’s face it, those home remedies usually make it worse. Don’t try to fix it yourself. Go Amiral employees have the knowledge and skill you need.

Tips For Running Your AC In The Wintertime

Are you afraid to use your AC in the wintertime? You’re not alone! There are many who are new to using air conditioning and need a little info on how or when to use them. There are times to use it which will save you money and other times which will not only cost you more but be less effective. At GoAdmiral we want to make sure that you are in control of your home’s temperature. Our blog post today will explore tips for running your AC in the wintertime, and show you how to be cost-effective with your air conditioning. It’s important to stay warm when winter comes, but you’ve got to use it wisely. That’s why we’re here to help!

AC Maintenance in Spring TX

Winter HVAC Cleaning in Spring TX

What Kind Of AC Should I Use?

There are a number of different types of ACs which will help your home in different types of ways. Some air conditioning units only produce cool air and are meant for hot areas. The ACs which also carry heat pumps are the kind that we recommend for the winter time use. They are capable of reversing the flow of Freon by using electric valves. This ensures that the evaporator inside will get hot instead of cool and the condenser gets cool instead of hot. The switch will make your AC unit generate heat instead of only cold air.  Some users will incorporate crankcase heaters that prevent oil migration to allow it to work optimally in the winter. You should explore your options and find out which is the most cost effective for your area. A higher electric bill would offset any benefits of the heat.

What Benefits Can Winter Use Of My AC Provide Me?

Aside from staying warm, there are a couple of very important benefits that the AC will provide. In the wintertime, there can be a large accumulation of humidity within the home. It can cause moisture to condense on the windows and potentially ruin items which are not meant to be wet. Turning on the air condition means there is air moving about the room, it will clear up the condensation for you. This way, you can see clearly through the windows year round. Another benefit is to protect your unit for summer usage. When it gets very cold, ice and snow usually occur, and these can be very dangerous for your AC. It can back up the conditioner and decrease its performance capabilities. This can be a drastic effect for the summer when you need it to work best. Finally, you’ll want to use your AC a few times in the winter to keep the circulation flowing, with the oil not building up. If it is not used, then you run the potential of your AC not being able to start up, or having a dry start when the summer approaches. This can cause problems for your AC and ultimately damage it, which could be very costly.

Options For Training And NATE Certifications Available!

Are you interested in building a career with us? There is a demand for competent and ambitious individuals in the HVAC industry and we love all the help we can get. There is a multitude of job offerings that span several levels of experience. This way you can work at the level you’re capable of! The ability to become certified has never been easier either. GoAdmiral even offers the ability to acquire these certifications through NATE. Look no further for work! In our blog post today, we will explore your career building potential in the HVAC industry and show how GoAdmiral has multiple options for training and NATE certification available.

AC Repair in Spring TX Tips and Maintenance

Best HVAC Techs

What does NATE Certification mean?

NATE stands for North American Technician Excellence, and they’ve been a formal presence in the HVACR field for over 20 years. In fact, NATE is the only technician certification organization governed, owned, operated, developed and supported by the HVACR industry. There are a number of tests provided for different fields and specialties. They are made by the NATE Technical Committee, which contains some of the most advanced and awarded technicians in the field. The tests are available for anyone to take and will provide professional verification that you are capable of working in this field. You must pass both the core test (if needed) and the specialty exam for whatever field you’re pursuing. They will focus on competence within the industry. The core exam is general knowledge, and the specialty exam determines your skill within a particular field.

How Long Does My Certification Last?

Every certification has a limit to its term and technicians must retest for new ones. The NATE certifications only last 2 years, but the Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installer certification lasts 3 years. This is to ensure that you are not out of date with any methods, equipment or new regulations. They are based on the KATEs, which are Knowledge Areas of Technical Expertise and designed by the NATE Technical Committee for job analysis. Each KATE is different and has a different length certification, too. In order to recertify, you can use your continued education hours (CEH) to reapply. You must earn 16 CE hours and document them in order to submit an application of recertification. The alternative would be taking the specialty exam again before your certification expires.

Contact Us If You Have Interest In A Career With Us!

We love to bring on new and ambitious technicians. With GoAdmiral you will be able to excel and gain incredible experience with our expert technicians already on the job. We have access to the KATE regulations on our website which can offer more depth on exactly how long certifications are, their costs, and the different regulations that apply to it. Making you aware of these opportunities is our way of inviting you to join our industry. We have plenty of options for training and NATE Certification available. There is never a shortage in demand for HVACR services and the community will be ever thankful for the assistance. Join the Goadmiral team and start your new career today!

Tune-Ups Can Lower Your Energy Bill

Tune-ups can lower your energy bill. Your HVAC system may be a sturdy piece of equipment, but everything needs care. Let’s talk about how you can save money with Go Admiral service contracts and highlight the benefits of that plan.

What Does A Typical Houston Energy Bill Look Like?

According to some sources, a typical Houston energy bill can climb up to $160 per month. If you’d prefer to save some of this money, you should invest in a regular service plan. If you should need a repair done, the numbers climb even higher. Expect to pay between 160 and 540 dollars on average for repairs. The numbers for larger issues climb into the 1300s. Money like that can be used for traveling and shopping, or even just rent. You could be paying a much smaller fee for tune-ups twice a year that keep your HVAC system out of hot water.

Houston heat will be climbing as we progress into the summer months. As discussed in previous postings, it’s necessary to beat the heat. You don’t want to be paying for expensive air conditioning repairs. You would rather be vacationing with your family or enjoying some time alone. Paying for a cheap service agreement and moving on with your life would save you the hassle.

Does Regular Maintenance Really Matter?

Yes, it does. It has been proven that regular maintenance improves the life of your HVAC system. Everything with a purpose needs care. Think of a garden. It needs to be pruned and watered and weeded when necessary. All of those tasks are preliminary care preventing larger issues. One issue can lead to another and make it harder and more expensive to repair. Leave your HVAC system to its own devices during the heat and it may develop issues you cannot anticipate. You are not a qualified HVAC technician, after all, and being unaware leads to a lot of problems.

Have a certified technician catch every issue before it becomes a bigger one. With the trusted service at Go Admiral, your home in Houston will be cool all summer.

In Need of Emergency HVAC Services?

In Need of Emergency HVAC Services?

Are you in need of emergency HVAC services? You may be uncertain about the next step to take in the case of air conditioning failure. You’re unsure about what the issue is, but there’s a burning smell or it’s stopped working altogether (for example). Whatever has happened to your AC, it can’t wait.

How do I identify an HVAC emergency?

There are a few signs that your HVAC system needs immediate repair. The first is excessive and unnatural sounds. There may be screeching sounds or buzzing, which indicate further issues. It can be potentially dangerous if there are electrical or pressure-related issues, so an emergency call is imperative.

It is important to note that when your heater is turned on, it may be accompanied by a burning smell. This is normal, but it should not be very strong or followed by smoke or persist for more than a few minutes. If there is an electrical issue causing the burning it could be dangerous for everyone inside.

Another emergency issue is the airflow completely ceasing. Whether you’re trying to run your air conditioner or heating this is a problem. Houston experiences both cold winters and hot summers. In order to keep yourself and your family members at a comfortable temperature during the seasons, your HVAC system needs to be functioning. Imagine not being able to turn the air conditioning on when it’s 90 degrees outside! The interior of your home or business can easily climb beyond 80 degrees.

So if you encounter any of these problems suddenly, what are you to do? What if it’s night and all of the businesses around you have decided to close?

The Benefit of Regular Air Conditioning Maintenance

The Benefit of Regular Air Conditioning Maintenance

Have you been wondering about the benefit of regular air conditioning maintenance? It might be a daunting topic, especially if you know very little about how it works. You’re not the only one worrying about this. There are many people who have very little idea about how their household technology works. Combined with the fear of surprise fees and creating further issues, a lot of people will ignore the issues they’re having. Or they will assume that technology without issues doesn’t need regular maintenance. But while you may think you’re saving yourself time and money by waiting, you could be decreasing the life of your equipment. You’re actually saving yourself the expense of a large repair, or worse, having to replace your air conditioning system. Let’s break down the benefits.

Longer Operating Life

With just two service appointments for your air conditioning each year, you will extend it’s operating life. This way issues can be caught as they arise and fixed before they begin to affect the rest of the system. Issues left untreated can weaken the rest of the components and make pricier repairs necessary.

Saving Your Money

It’s not uncommon for us to avoid servicing our air conditioning in order to save our money. While it may seem smart in the short-term, in the long-term you’ll be spending more. Air conditioners will degrade between 1 and 3% every year, which will cause your energy bill to increase. Your HVAC will extend itself to produce consistent results, meaning you’re spending more. Like mentioned before, it will also be cheaper to make smaller repairs after your technician catches them. Left to their own devices, it can deteriorate your whole system.

Breathe Better

When your HVAC system is serviced, they will clean out your air filter. This is a necessary task that most people forget about. The longer dirty filters remain in your system, the more dust is being circulated back into your home. This can cause breathing issues and allergies. It’s better to have a professional take this essential home-care task off your bucket list than you have to worry about it. Once your filters are clean, you and those important to you will be able to breathe safely.
